Poster Abstract Guidelines

Printed Posters

All posters will be presented inside the Exhibit Hall. Each poster will be allocated a poster board; the poster must be in landscape/horizontal orientation and cannot be more than 72 inches wide x 42 inches tall.

Velcro for mounting your poster materials will be provided; if your poster requires any special materials that cannot be mounted via velcro, you should bring your own mounting supplies. No electrical outlets or audio-visual equipment will be provided in the poster area. You will use your assigned code to hang your poster onto the correct poster board.

Set Up

Posters must be set up on Thursday, August 25, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Dismantling

Posters must be taken down between 1:30 PM and 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 27, 2022. If they are still on the board after this time, we reserve the right to remove and dispose of the poster. No responsibility can be taken for any loss or damage to your poster. Submission of your poster is taken as acceptance of these conditions.

Format

  • Please make sure you include the submission ID number within the poster that you have received in your abstract notification.

  • QR codes are not permitted on posters.

  • The text should be no less than 16-point font, and preferably larger.
  • Use the same font throughout the poster. (i.e. Times New Roman, Calibri, Arial)
  • Use a black and bold type to ensure legibility and let your important points stand out.
  • Highlight your main findings. Don’t hide your conclusions; consider putting them at the top of the right column, or alternatively start with the Conclusions. Otherwise, we suggest that you structure your poster by Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusions. State your aims at the end of the introduction.
  • If you have figures and/or tables they should cover approximately 50% of the poster area. There is neither a preferred file type nor max file size for uploading a graph or chart.

Other Recommendations:

  • If possible, avoid abbreviations and acronyms, especially in the Conclusions section.

  • Seek simplicity, keep text to a minimum, and avoid redundancies.

  • Feel free to provide one or more key references.

Format for Digital Posters:

  • PDF version of the poster will be displayed in the BDC virtual platform

  • The orientation for the PDF version of the poster can be either landscape/horizontal or portrait/vertical.

  • The file size limit is 2 MB.
